On New Year’s Eve the Moosic Little League complex and the newly constructed Boundless Playground for handicapped children was extensively vandalized.
All our officers were extremely upset, but none more so that Jason Muskey, who has worked for four years on the total reconstruction of our park.
Jason plunged headlong into the project on Jan. 1 and enlisted the help of Lackawanna County Commissioner Cory O’Brien, Mayor Jim Segilia, Councilmen Bill Sweeney and Joe Dente, DPW Director Matt Talerico, the Lackawanna County Gang Task Force and the Moosic Police.
Donnie Evans, owner, Roof Cleaning Pros & Pressure Washing of Pittston Pa, worked voluntarily in extremely cold conditions to mitigate the damage. Home Depot donated the chemicals and supplies. The work was completed on Jan. 2.
I am extremely humbled and thankful to everyone who worked to return our facility to normal so we can serve the children of Moosic.
